concepts to the final project 2
a program of space for the activities that would be relevant to my proposed design for the library park.
some conceptual drawings and sketches to visualise how my design may be relevant to the site and the parameters that i wish to focus on.
reviewing back on exemplars that we did research on, the idea of the merging of the park into the built structure is very appealing considering that howard smith wharves would be revamped into a parkland. i think it is definitely a very novel idea and could be a enjoyable environment to learn and interact in. i also enjoy the perforations and the play of light but more importantly the concept of hidden spaces or to be more accurate the concept of exploration to find hidden spaces which are visible to create a private space. i think back to my childhood, i always enjoyed finding hidden spaces that were exclusive to me although it was a public space. as children we have an innate desire to create our own little hiding spots to reflect and learn, it is this parameter that i wish to explore with this project.
